Accor Announces New Art Series Hotel for Perth
Accor announced it will open its ninth Art Series hotel in Perth’s CBD. The $90 million hotel by developer George Atzemis is located at 900 Hay Street, Perth.
Dedicated to Australia’s contemporary artists, the fundamental design concept of the 250-room Art Series hotel will draw inspiration from its incoming namesake artist, with custom contemporary furnishings and original artworks and prints adorning the walls and halls of the hotel.
The new-build, full-service hotel will appeal to both business and leisure travellers with stylish guest rooms, a signature restaurant with terrace, bar and lounge, ground floor café, swimming pool, gymnasium and a function room.

$2.6B Encore Boston Harbor to Open June 2019
The $2.6 billion Encore Boston Harbor Resort will begin welcoming guests June 23. The 671-key property includes a 210,000-square-foot casino, 15 dining and lounge venues, 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, a spa and a 6-acre park space.
The property’s selection of restaurants, bars and lounges will include concepts from Wynn and Encore Las Vegas, including the Sinatra restaurant, Wynn Buffet and Rare Steakhouse. Other resort dining venues will draw inspiration from the produce and ingredients of New England and the Atlantic.
The Encore Boston Harbor Resort will offer more than 50,000 square feet of conference space, including 10 break-out rooms, a promenade and a 37,000-square-foot grand ballroom. Additionally, the property will feature 21,000 square feet of seasonal outdoor space overlooking the Boston Harbor and skyline
THPT Comment – At over US$3.5m per room…wow! albeit this obviously includes a lot of casino and convention space. We are not sure if the colouful Steve Wynn is behind this venture…sounds good, although we note that Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox is boss. This will be the first casino in Boston.

Radisson Partners With Allianz Real Estate for New Radisson Collection Hotel in Milan, Italy
Radisson Hospitality AB is pleased to announce the signing of a new Radisson Collection property in Milan, Italy. Working in conjunction with Allianz, the group will redevelop the former Allianz Italia headquarters in Milan into the Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan. The hotel will be managed by Allianz Real Estate on behalf of Allianz group companies.
The hotel, which will also offer hi-tech meeting and events spaces for the local and international business communities, will benefit from the new Santa Sofia M4 underground stop, which is expected to open in 2022 and will directly connect the hotel with the city centre and Linate Airport
THPT Comment – We’re trying to ascertain if this is Allianz first foray into hotels…we’ve asked…see this site for a further info.
Soho House Launches into Beach Clubs with Site on Mykonos
The move marks the first step in Soho House’s plans to build on its existing network of 23 houses globally by creating similar beachfront locations in the UK, Europe, US and Asia.
Soho House & Co’s eclectic portfolio of global businesses comprises 23 private members’ clubs and hotels, including the Ned and Soho Farmhouse, 13 restaurant brands, the Soho Home collection of furniture and interior accessories and Soho Works workspace.
THPT Comment – No stopping Soho House with this new venture…and yet another beach club bar for poor old Mykonos residents! (very few with no loud music blaring!)

Dusit International Opens Dusit Suites Hotel Ratchadamri, Bangkok
Comprising expansive one- and two-bedroom suites, the hotel is designed to provide facilities for short- and long-stay guests alike. Each suite features contemporary Thai decor and two private balconies offering views of the cityscape or lush fairways of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club.
Facilities include a free-form swimming pool (with separate children’s pool), Jacuzzi, sauna and a well-equipped gym.
