L&Q launch in the Midlands

This summer, L&Q will launch Birnam Mews in Tiddington, close to Warwickshire’s historic Stratford-Upon-Avon, marking the beginning of this leading housing association’s expansion into the Midlands.

The attractive collection of 60 one, two, three- and four-bedroom homes are designed to seamlessly blend in with the surrounding area and become a natural extension of the community.

Over the past year, only 23 homes were exchanged in the affluent village of Tiddington. Birnam Mews is a significant new opportunity for local residents to find a brand-new home within the area, and for buyers to move into this village.*

Set within publicly accessible landscaped grounds, with mature planting and children’s play areas, residents will be able to enjoy picturesque scenery and opportunities for outdoor living. Maintaining the rural feel in the village, L&Q is installing hedgehog fencing, roosting places for birds and a variety of trees throughout the site.

Andrea Palmer, Head of Regional Sales for L&Q Counties, comments: “Birnam Mews is an exciting opportunity for both local residents and first-time buyers wanting a slice of village living. We understand that an essential element of that very lifestyle is community, which is why we will be doing far more than just laying bricks at Birnam Mews. From the communal green spaces interweaved through the neighbourhood, to the architectural detailing of the houses, our goal is to make Birnam Mews feel like an established part of Tiddington, whilst building brand new, high quality homes that buyers will love.”

Designed by Gardner Stewart Architects, Birnam Mews has been inspired by traditional street-scenes, offering ample resident parking and a broad selection of house types. Properties range from one- and two-bedroom mews houses to four-bedroom houses – with a mix of price points for different buyers.

Providing greater flexibility to residents, Birnam Mews will offer homes through Shared Ownership and Affordable Rent. Shared Ownership allows a buyer to part own and part rent a property, buying a share in the home and paying rent on the remaining portion. Meanwhile, Affordable Rent is capped at a percentage of the local market rate, and available to eligible local residents.

Residents are just moments away from Tiddington village centre, with a row of restaurants and a traditional English pub, The Crown, offering the quintessential village lifestyle. Meanwhile, the cultural melting-pot of Stratford-upon-Avon is under two miles away, famously known for the birthplace of William Shakespeare. As well as museums and theatres, the picturesque town has regular farmers markets, a wide selection of high street shops and numerous restaurants and cafes.

Local primary school Alveston Church of England is minutes away from Birnam Mews, whilst secondary school options include OFSTED outstanding Stratford Girls’ Grammar School and King Edward VI School, as well as co-educational Stratford upon Avon school.

Prices start from £245,000
