Marbella-Style Beach Club to Open on the Isle of Wight

The UK’s first Marbella-style beach club is to open on the Isle of Wight in Sandown in July.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The UK’s first Marbella-style beach club is to open on the Isle of Wight in Sandown in July.

Called Origin, it will offer 24 bedrooms and two one-bedroom apartments in the Townhouse at Origin from £170 a night. The business will offer indoor and alfresco dining in the Terrace restaurant, where local seafood will be a feature, along with a cocktail bar, a swimming pool with DJ area, plus a roped-off section of Sandown’s famous sandy beach, complete with sunbeds and a beach bar.

THPT Comment –  What happened to the IOW to make it so hot…Just a while back Prince Harry’s friend, Howard Spooner is going to turn his bit of the beach into St Tropez!

The Hut has Bought Two Hotels in Manchester

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hut entered the hotel sector in 2016, buying the Hale Country Club & Spa. Eclectic founders Eamonn and Sally O’Loughlin are retaining two former Eclectic properties, in south Manchester – Didsbury House Hotel and Eleven Didsbury Park.

The pair – located in the city centre – accommodate a variety of lounge and bar areas, as well as roof-top terraces. King Street Townhouse also houses an infinity pool, private screening room and a wine cellar dining space.

The deal is designed to demonstrate the Hut Group’s approach to effective engagement with consumers in both the online and offline environment. As such, the hotels will form part of its growing marketing infrastructure.

THPT Comment – Interesting in the same week Equinox, the health club operator, has announced their first hotel in New York…is there a trend here?

LVMH to Launch Luxury Cheval Blanc Hotel Brand in London

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

French luxury goods company LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton is to bring its exclusive Cheval Blanc brand to London with the launch of an 83-bedroom hotel in Mayfair.

Located within a seven-storey property and a linked 11-storey property between New Bond Street, Grafton Street and Bruton Lane, the hotel will feature a raft of food and beverage outlets including a lobby bar and all-day restaurant on the ground floor, a fine-dining restaurant on the first floor and a bar and roof terrace on level six.

LVMH also owns Bvlgari hotels, Dom Pérignon, Krug, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior Couture and TAG Heuer.

THPT Comment – Will be interesting to see if they keep the Cheval Blanc brand, or merge it into Belmond, who are due to open the Belmond Cadogan in London’s Belgravia imminently.

London & Regional, owner of Cliveden, Chewton Glen, Lygon Arms in the UK and 60+ other hotels globally.

The Lensbury has a spa, pool, gym and tennis courts on 25 acres by the Thames at Teddington. It opened to the public in the 1990’s as a hotel and country club.

The club is next door to a 217 flat project being built by City Developments owned by Singapore’s Kwek Leng Beng.

THPT Comment – Great buy for L&R to expand it’s luxury UK hotel section…The price reflects the 25 acres of river frontage…Fab setting. We guess the current club members are wondering what it will mean for them.

The world’s largest hotel company now has a home-rentals brand, with Marriott International launching its new Homes & Villas by Marriott International. The initiative currently contains more than 2,000 offerings in 100 destinations that it terms “premium and luxury homes.”

“The launch of Homes & Villas by Marriott International reflects our ongoing commitment to innovation as consumer travel needs evolve,” said Stephanie Linnartz, Global Chief Commercial Officer, Marriott International. “What started out as a pilot a year ago is now a global offering, providing our guests with the space and amenities of a home backed by a trusted travel company”.

Marriott is launching Homes & Villas by Marriott International with select property management companies that are already managing these homes.

THPT Comment – Marriott take on Airbnb….Interesting times. They conducted their pilot, in which it rented 340 properties, in Paris, Rome, Lisbon and London.
